ChemDAQ and Proline Medical Partner to Expand Access to Continuous Chemical Vapour Monitoring in Australian Hospitals

Partnership Formed as Australia Prepares to Adopt New Workplace Exposure Limits on 1 December 2026

PITTSBURGH, PA — 29 September — ChemDAQ, a leading provider of hazardous gas monitoring solutions, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Proline Medical, an Australian healthcare company specialising in infection prevention, sterilisation, endoscopy and reprocessing solutions, with a strong national presence across hospitals and healthcare facilities.

The partnership combines ChemDAQ’s expertise in continuous monitoring of hazardous chemical vapours with Proline Medical’s extensive experience in sterilisation, endoscopy, infection prevention and healthcare compliance. Through this collaboration, Proline Medical will offer ChemDAQ’s sensor technology and continuous monitoring systems for hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and peracetic acid (PAA) to its customers across Australia.

The timing follows Australia’s move to implement new Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs) on 1 December 2026, which halves the eight-hour time-weighted average limit for hydrogen peroxide to 0.5 ppm and introduces a 0.4 ppm peak limit for peracetic acid. Together, the companies aim to provide sterilisation and reprocessing teams with objective, real-time information that helps them better understand their work environment, make informed decisions, and reduce chemical exposure risk.

“Proline Medical has built real trust with Australian reprocessing departments, and they share our belief that staff safety warrants the same rigor as patient safety. The technicians in those departments keep patients safe every day, and that same care extends to their own safety. With December’s Workplace Exposure Limits bringing renewed focus to the chemicals used in reprocessing, we’re looking forward to educating and serving Australian hospitals together,” said Alex Hilliker, Executive Vice President, ChemDAQ.

“At Proline Medical, we believe the safety of the people behind reprocessing is just as important as the safety of the patients they protect. Our partnership with ChemDAQ brings proven continuous chemical monitoring technology to Australian healthcare, supported by Proline’s education, technical expertise and national reach. We’re proud to work together to raise awareness of occupational exposure risks and strengthen workplace safety across Australian healthcare settings,” said Julianne Schipelliti, Director, Proline Medical.

Proline Medical will introduce the partnership to the Australian reprocessing community at the Federation of Sterilizing Research and Advisory Councils of Australia (FSRACA) National Conference, taking place 30 September – 2 October 2026 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Attendees can visit Proline Medical at Booth 9 throughout the conference to learn about the partnership and discuss chemical vapour monitoring in their own reprocessing areas ahead of the December changes.
